THE FIRST PART...
A Fun Filled Fine Arts Experience where students will be immersed in the Essentials of the Arts -- in Air Conditioned Studios. They will create Individual and collaborative visual art projects while learning the crafts of acting and puppetry under the direction of professional artists. We provide a nurturing environment where they will improve their artistic skills and learn completely new ones with supportive NEW friends just like them.
THE NEXT PART...
Play a character, construct a prop, design a scene, paint a drop. Students will develop a complete understanding of how the collaborative process can create something fantastic -- An All NEW Production of "Alice in Wonderland". Your children will design, craft and perform all aspects of this production during the second part of the camp. All the campers will succeed and enjoy unparalleled time and attention from our talented staff.

VISUAL ARTS
Our talented faculty will create an environment focused on artists values, ideas and aesthetics. These fundamentals of Design will enhance every component of the child's experience at the camp. Campers will be introduced to 2D techniques in pencil, carbon, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, and collage. Their work will culminate with painting of 3D masks created in the Puppet Classes and life sized paintings for the Theatre Program scenic drops.
THEATRE ARTS
Every day, the children will be immersed in exciting lessons - Daily Acting Games, Theatre Warmups, and Concentration Exercises. NYC Regional Director will guide classes in improvisation, script work, acting technique, scene study, and theatre games. Technical Instructors will introduce hands on experience in stagecraft and design. After the basics the Students will be work on rehearsal, script and character analysis to prepare the final production.
PUPPET & MASK ARTS
We are the ONLY Camp in Florida with a full Puppet & Mask Theatre Program. Starting with Ancient traditions of Object Theatre and Mask, campers will explore the design and movement arts of our ancestors. Then we will leap around the planet to build and perform Indonesian Shadows, Japanese Bunraku, and English Punch. Children will see the world differently - a place where everything can become a puppet.

VISUAL ARTS CURRICULUM
Art is the process of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression.
Painting is the practice of applying a pigment (acrylic, oil, carbon) suspended in a medium and applied to a surface (paper, canvas, wall). However, when used in an artistic sense, its combination with drawing, color combination and composition it helps to manifest the expressive, emotional and conceptual intentions of the practitioner.
The final work of art challenges the audience to understand the message on the work of art, while transporting them inside the soul of the artist.
Artistic Objectives
- Introduce students to the fundamental processes of visual perception, color theory and artistic expression.
- Develop students’ confidence in using painting as a primary medium for artistic expression, as well as the use of brushes and other materials.
- Develop students’ ability to verbalize ideas and processes in art making.
- Develop understanding of history, major styles and contemporary issues in painting.
- Apply learning to other visual and performing arts.
THEATRE ARTS CURRICULUM
Participants will be interviewed upon registration and presented with lines to memorize for auditions during the first week of the workshop.
Registration/interviews: April 24, May 1 and 8 from 1-3 pm
Week 1: welcome and introductions to participants, warm up exercises, as well as concentration and movement exercises; intro to the theatre world and to their stage, acting, performing and “theatricalism,” auditions and distribution of T-shirts
Week 2: discuss double-casting, distribute cast list, set design concept, character analysis, begin blocking and staging scenes
Week 3: lines memorized, costume fittings, props and sets in place, continue blocking
Week 4: integration of puppets, final costume fittings, adjust blocking/staging for props, puppets, etc.
Week 5: technical rehearsals, run throughs, and dress rehearsal
Two performances: Sat. July 24 and Sun. 25 at 2 PM and Sat. July 24 and Sun. July 25 at 2 PM
PUPPET & MASK ARTS CURRICULUM
Puppetry is an art form that incorporates many of the multiple intelligences -- It impacts virtually ALL types of learners. Student writing is not merely expressed through the written word, but brought to life visually and through movement (the essence of puppetry). Additionally, the process of creating a puppet performance involves social skills such as teamwork, compromise and problem solving. The end result- the performance- not only educates the audience, but is also a valuable assessment tool in itself.
Artistic Objectives:
>Students will learn vocabulary related to the art form
>Students will Learn techniques to create a puppet and cultural background
>Students will recognize potential of puppetry to bring a story to life
>Multiple Intelligences targeted include: linguistic, visual/spatial, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, mathematical, natural and musical
