We are here to serve campers through the provision of recreational education, leadership, supervision and programs. in doing so, we pledge to be responsive to the needs and changing attitudes of our community.

We pledge to remain flexible in providing a summer program with a wide range of recreational opportunities that are physically wholesome, mentally stimulating and satisfying and socially sound.

Camp Counselor

1. Leads and/or instructs children in games and activities, usually supervising them, sometimes directly participating or coaching them in competition.
2. Is responsible for the well being of children in the Camp. Must remain aware of the individual needs of his children as well as the needs of groups. Must be alert to expressions of attitudes, feelings and relationships. Is a source of advice and guidance to individual children in the group.
3. Is responsible for discipline within the group to which he is assigned.
4. Plans and schedules special projects when that is part of his/her program.
5. Takes good care of recreation equipment and facilities, recovering missing items and making repairs when necessary. Maintains facilities in a clean and orderly manner, reporting all malfunctions and damages. Teaches respect for equipment and facilities to the children.
6. Must see himself/herself as an integral member of the Camp's professional team. Lends staff members assistance when necessary.

Secondary objectives of the summer program include:

1. To teach sportsmanship.
2. To teach cooperation.
3. To teach self-discipline and respect for property.
4. To lessen delinquency by providing an opportunity for wholesome activities during leisure time.
5. To offer opportunity for development of leadership traits.
6. To teach recreational skills.
