David Jantz is the Science Teacher and Mountain Bike instructor. He has loved summer camps since he was a few weeks old, when he and his parents directed a week of a sleep-away camp in Kansas. Almost every summer of his life since then has included some kind of summer camp experience – from “director’s kid” to camper, junior counselor, counselor, or volunteer. Having recently moved to South Florida, he’s super excited that this summer will include a camp experience as well! He’s well qualified to be Camp Live Oak’s science teacher with a bachelor of arts in Biochemistry, a Florida professional educator’s license in Biology, and K-12 teaching experience. David currently teaches at Attucks Middle School in Hollywood. He is thrilled to have this opportunity to move beyond the four walls of a classroom and explore the world of outdoor education this summer! This is David’s First summer with Camp Live Oak. He is First Aid/CPR certified.
