February Family Fun in Florida

Those who live in Florida know February to be a great time of year for family fun. Those planning a family trip to Florida will be pleasantly surprised by the mild weather, especially during the time of year when most of the country is in the midst of winter, and all that typically goes along with it. In case, you are wondering what to wear, you’ll find sundresses, shorts, sandals, and t-shirts the norm year round in most of Florida, with the addition of a sweater or jacket as the sun sets. And, in Florida, swimsuits are year round attire, along with your favorite sunblock, of course.

Events to Enjoy for February Fun in Florida

Since, the subject is February Fun, Valentine’s Day must get a mention. Restaurants, hotels, and other venues offer up events for couples, which could actually be labeled as deconstructed family fun – parents enjoy a night out while the kids have pizza, games, and more their favorite babysitter. And if the whole family wants to celebrate the holiday together, there’s plenty to do, from a day at the beach to mini-golf, museums to concerts.

Sea World Orlando offers up loads of family fun at the Seven Seas Food Festival running weekends February 7 through May 3, 2020. Adults will enjoy the delightful foods, craft beers, and wine tastings as well as concerts and special performances, while kids will adore all magic that Sea World has to offer.

In Fort Lauderdale, the Museum of Discovery and Science features Expedition: Dinosaur! Perfect for all the dinosaur fans in the family. This traveling expedition promises close encounters of the dinosaur kind complete with Amargasaurus, Carnosaurus, Albertosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Stegosaurus, Iguanodon, Pachycephalosaurus, Velociraptor, and Triceratops. This amazing traveling expedition will run through May 25, 2020.

If you want to experience a bit of winter in sunny Florida in February, head on over to the outdoor Ice Skating Rink at Jungle Island in Miami. This brand new tradition lets visitors ice skate in their shorts and t-shirts right in jungle!

Of course, there is always plenty of family fun in Florida, especially for those who families who enjoy the great outdoors. The area beaches always beckon for lazy days of swimming, sunning, shelling, and surfing. You can grab your paddle board or kayak and explore the intracoastal waterways, lakes, and rivers or hike or bike your way through any of the picturesque area parks.

This has been the first camp ever that my son didn’t complain about going in the morning, but he did tell me about the friends he made and the things he did. We love this camp!
